I'm a food enthusiast and love cooking..
Lo...Hi
I'm a food enthusiast and love cooking..
Looking at all the amazing bread recipes on your blog, I never thought bread baking could be that easy!
Very excited about baking bread i started off, however i wasn't exactly successful.

I have tried to make Focaccia, Herb and Cheese Pull Apart Bread and Garlic Pull Apart Rolls.
I followed the recipe completely yet I didn't get the same results.

I've been using Mauripaan Instant yeast that comes in a 1/2 kg vacuum sealed pack and the it proves well.

After adding the yeast mixture, the dough does rise to double its size. But after I flatten out the dough and shape it as required, it doesn't rise any further. Hence leading to a dense and chewy end product rather than a fluffy airy bread.

I don't know where I am going wrong. I am pretty disheartened at my failure to bake bread.

It might seem slightly premature to call my bread making a failure since I have only tried a few recipes. But I strongly feel that I am going wrong somewhere.

It would be incredibly nice and helpful if you could provide some insight on what I am doing wrong or what more I could do.

Thanking you,
AnujaAnonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10176484899154394127noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4746440631729949558.post-76026243856772579332013-08-07T07:57:14.301+05:302013-08-07T07:57:14.301+05:30You can find it in any of the gourmet super market...You can find it in any of the gourmet super markets-Amma Naana,Nuts n Spices,Brown Tree etc.Even Nilgiris stocks them now.Divya Kuduahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09697500855182293698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4746440631729949558.post-42028713514800399322013-08-07T07:56:12.153+05:302013-08-07T07:56:12.153+05:30Thanks Maninder,I do not have videos on the blog y...Thanks Maninder,I do not have videos on the blog yet.I use the Convection mode on the IFB while baking cakes.Press the convection button and set the temperature, for eg 200C.When you press start, the oven would automatically start pre-heating.After a few minutes, the oven would beep indicating it is pre-heated.Now put in your cake pan and again press the convection button.Set the temperature and the time and press start.I haven't tried baking a naan on the mw yet.But I think on convection mode it would take you 6-8 minutes and then you have to finish cooking it in the grill mode for browning.Divya Kuduahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09697500855182293698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4746440631729949558.post-82053943333668356132013-08-07T07:52:48.999+05:302013-08-07T07:52:48.999+05:30Thanks for the feedback Akhila.I use a Bajaj F10 F...Thanks for the feedback Akhila.I use a Bajaj F10 Food processor and absolutely love it.It kneads my bread dough and minces onions in seconds and yeah grates carrots in a few minutes. So yeah,I like it a lot :).As for the oven,I have an IFB 30 ltr Microwave as well as a Morphy Richards 28 ltr OTG.I use both for my baking.Divya Kuduahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09697500855182293698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4746440631729949558.post-17331525196148610522013-08-07T07:50:04.365+05:302013-08-07T07:50:04.365+05:30Thanks for the kind words Najma.I've used Appl...Thanks for the kind words Najma.I've used Apple juice too in place of Apple cider-used Appy.Go ahead with Vanilla if you do not have Almond extract.

I usually use a weighing scale when the recipe calls for weight measures rather than converting it to cups.A standard cup size is 250 ml so 50 ml should be 1/5 of a cup.and 12 tbsp butter should be 170 gms.For butter conversions,I usually go to this site - http://www.traditionaloven.com/conversions_of_measures/butter_converter.html

I don't have a cake pop recipe on my blog yet.But do check out the cake pop queen Bakerella's blog for recipe and ideas.Divya Kuduahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09697500855182293698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4746440631729949558.post-1876398715420619062013-08-07T07:44:40.615+05:302013-08-07T07:44:40.615+05:30For Cake related stuff, check out Staines and Baker...For Cake related stuff, check out Staines and Bakers - http://www.divyascookbook.com/2012/05/baking-supplies-in-ernakulamkerala.html

As for the Vanilla pods, check out if you have any contacts in Munnar, you get good quality vanilla pods there.Divya Kuduahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09697500855182293698noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4746440631729949558.post-41309605463134827102013-08-06T20:21:10.369+05:302013-08-06T20:21:10.369+05:30Hi Divya,

Is this the general norm for all cakes. Please let me know the size of the cake pan I should use to get your choco walnut cake recipe right.I am sorry but I have just started baking I am very confused about a lot of things.Looking forward to your reply.

Regards,
Sonal.Sonalnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4746440631729949558.post-25270575470300631242013-06-25T09:04:13.359+05:302013-06-25T09:04:13.359+05:30hi divya. could you pls guide me on where to get l...hi divya. could you pls guide me on where to get lasagna noodles in chennai?Bharathynoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4746440631729949558.post-4363539851586010712013-06-25T09:03:49.456+05:302013-06-25T09:03:49.456+05:30Hi !
